Merseyside Innovation Awards 2010

news item image The Merseyside Innovation Awards 2010 launches this week, to recognise the use of innovation as a means of boosting growth and profitability within the region.

The Awards are open to individuals or companies with less than 50 employees who are based within Merseyside. Applicants will be eligible to win £10,000 in cash, £4,000 worth of legal, business, accounting or design consultancy; support from some of the region's leading business advisors; and publicity for their innovative idea. Each monthly winner will receive a commemorative certificate and a licence to use the Awards for marketing purposes.

Each month from now until May a winner will be selected to join the shortlist before the grand final in July where three finalists will showcase their products before an audience of entrepreneurs and other leading figures in the business community.

This year's search for innovation will start on Thursday 28th January at Liverpool Science Park's Innovation Centre 2, where delegates will be able to meet early contenders for the awards and finalists from previous years. In 2007, MerseyBIO-based IOTA NanoSolutions scooped the annual award for the development of their revolutionary nanoparticle technology.
